ies In a girls’ school, a future agitator dreams of being a grain of rice among others, a small part of a large mass. In the king's rose garden, a finance minister thinks back on the revolutionaries he has known. A well-loved prime minister is dying and uses his last tram journey to settle accounts with his opponents, while his successor is visited by the Devil himself. Unconventional prosist Björn Runeborg gives us a series of more or less fictional snapshots from the history of Swedish social democracy. This story collection follows the life course of an ideology, from rebellious struggle for justice to despondent retrospective, always portraying the central characters with elegant, precise strokes.
