Exhibition: Pär Engsheden och Sara Danius: Nobelk
länningar Last year, Sweden tragically lost the writer and professor Sara Danius to cancer. A big part of Danius’ visual presence in the public mind was the dresses she wore to Nobel Gala ceremonies, and that’s what this exhibition at Nationalmuseum takes in. It focuses on the interaction between designer Pär Engsheden and Danius in the creation of the dresses, and goes deep into the question of how fashion and other arts interact. Engsheden, who currently runs the fashion department at Beckmans Design School, has put together the exhibition with Danius’ family. Nobelklänningar, Nationalmuseum, on display until Feb 2021 Hangout: Trädgården Trädgården’s annual opening is usually a big event, but it didn’t happen as usual this year for obvious reasons. So they had to rethink a little, and eventually made their comeback in May. No nightclub this time – instead they’ve launched what they’re calling Picknick Sessions, essentially a chill and socially distanced hang-out zone in the venue’s open-air areas. Book a table and you’ll be treated to a new menu every weekend, along with drinks and DJs. Like everything else, it’s not normal, but it’s a way of resurrecting at least a little of the summer.
