Volvo Polestar choose Teng Tools - For the tenth
year in a row! Derek Crabb, Motorsport Director at Volvo, prefers sponsors who know what they want. The sponsors themselves are looking to get value for their money. That’s why he chooses Teng Tools as the main sponsor of “his” Volvo Polestar Racing in STCC 2013. - They have everything needed for a long term relationship, says Derek. He describes sponsorship as a partnership that benefi ts all parties. -I have attended several of Teng Tools racing events around the world and realise that they add signifi cant value to both brand and customers. This is extremely important for us, because we use racing as a way to build our performance business internationally. It all began in 2004 with the sponsorship of racing driver Robert Dahlgren, at that time new to Volvo Polestar Racing. Today, ten years later, the relationship is so close that Teng Tools develops its product line in consultation with drivers and mechanics. - Thanks to a close co-operation with individual mechanics at Volvo Polestar, we have initiated an exciting development of a key product in our range, says Karin Klouman at Teng Tools. - And we can be absolutely certain that the entire market will be attracted by the news. If it works in a racing workshop, where demands are at their highest, it will work anywhere. The reputation of the enterprising tool Volvo Polestar Drivers: Robert Dahlgren Fredrik Ekblom Thed Björk Carl Philip Bernadotte Linus Ohlsson manufacturer has spread to more parts of the Volvo Group. Today, most of the Volvo production and maintenance units in Sweden use the Teng Tools hand tools and storage solutions. - Keeping costs down is another criterion when choosing partners. With Teng Tools we get quality for money without compromising the quality that we need, says Derek Crabb. Precise racing lover The mechanic Christian Strömberg is crazy. In both racing and being organised. That’s why he brings his Teng Tools tool cabinet with him wherever he goes. - Neat and tidy, that’s what racing is all about. To spend time searching for tools can cost you the victory. He came to Volvo Polestar in 2011. Just when the STCC season would start. Christian Strömberg was thrown into the real world. In to a pit where everything was about getting the cars in top condition before the important fi rst race. - I was not the only rookie in the team and competitors doubted that we would be able to get the cars ready in time. They were quite surprised when we took pole position for the fi rst race, said Christian. Already at that time the Linköping guy was cool. Trusted what he did. Trusted his tools. - If something goes wrong it is because of something that neither I nor my tools can be blamed for. I have never experienced a tool breaking, says Christian. But he is also a real perfectionist when it comes to tools. Cleans, polishes and makes sure they are in the right place when the working day is over. With the Teng Tools storage system, it is easy to stay organised, both in the pits and in the workshop. - Racing is a lifestyle. We at Volvo Polestar have all stood and hung round at race tracks when we were young. We are racing fanatics, socialising almost exclusively with each other and like to work overtime. We’ve all moved here to Gothenburg just to work with racing cars. 7
