friendly flights to Swedish airports. We look forward to developing modern and climate-smart conditions for everyone who uses Swedish airspace. The work will be done in close dialogue and collaboration with relevant stakeholders. Sweden Airspace Project, SWEA, is another airspace project that LFV is operating together with Swedavia. The goal of the project is to reduce the complexity of the airspace. It will lead to improvements in a number of performance areas such as aviation safety, cost efficiency, capacity, environment, predictability, and flexibility. AN IMPORTANT PART OF THE TOTAL DEFENCE We see that the world around us is changing. The threat against Sweden is growing. Therefore, a rearmament of the armed forces is underway. LFV is an important part of the recovery of total defence capability and conducts that work within the grantfinanced programme Robust Air Traffic Service and through various activities and contingency planning for civil defence. Robust Air Traffic Service means that we must do the same thing as today, i.e., conduct air navigation services, but that we must ensure that it is also possible to do so under other conditions. Within total defence, we, together with other designated authorities, resume contingency planning within the scope of civil defence. CONTINUED DEVELOPMENT Air navigation services is a global and technologically quite conservative industry. We do not compromise on aviation safety. Therefore, it must work the same for all pilots world-wide. We must drive technological development to streamline operations wisely and safely. Remote air traffic control is one example of this. Our activities at Örnsköldsvik Airport are different. Here, we have LARC, LFV Aviation Research Centre, where we together with several partners develop smart solutions for the airports of the future. As I wrote at the beginning, I hope that 2022 will be the year when the world gets the pandemic under control, that people will once again have the opportunity to travel, and that aviation makes meetings between people possible.
