ROADMAP Adhamh O’Caoimh INTIMACY CARDS A PORTAL T
O NEW YORK A new movement is on the rise, coming from a deep craving to connect with other humans... Away from our phones and computers. It’s not all about couples or finding your significant other. It’s an Intimacy Movement that encourages you to connect with people on a deeper level, redefining intimacy and valuing vulnerability and openness as a means of connection. A push towards social fitness. The Intimacy Cards were created as pieces of art, but more than that, they have levels of Emotional, Physical and Energetic Intimacy that will bring you closer to just about anyone. Loneliness can be a thing of the past. Making new friends can be easier than you think. By gamifying intimacy, Sharlene Durfey Francois, artist, connector and the creator, illustrator and founder of the Intimacy Cards has made something that will help even the most introverted people connect. You can get a deck and try them yourself from intimacy-cards.com and follow @intimacycards on instagram. The Portal is a groundbreaking public art exhibition from Lithuanian born artist, Benediktas Gylys, set to stage a live, two way video feed between O’ Connell Street and the Flatiron South Public Plaza, in Broadway, New York that is sure to see an unprecedented amount of unsavoriness from every end. Benediktas Gylys has this to say on his work. “Portals aim to be a bridge to a united planet. I am grateful to the cities of Dublin and New York for pioneering innovation and welcoming their Portal sculptures, which is a significant milestone after years of work. From the initial two cities of Vilnius, Lithuania and Lublin, Poland, Portals are now expanding to be a global network. This is just the beginning and our team will continue bringing Portals to large cities and little towns of planet Earth.” BALTIMORE Imogen Poots leads this incredible Irish psychological thriller, playing Rose Dugdale, the ringleader of the 1974 heist at the private estate Russborough House in Ireland’s County Wicklow, where the group stole 19 priceless paintings. Focusing on the aftermath of the heist, this tense films charts her journey from privileged heiress to committed rebel, handled deftly by the writer and director team Christine Molloy and Joe Lawlor, a.k.a Desperate Optimists. Highly recommended viewing before it closes out its theatrical run. 10
