SPINDIZZY EXPANDS MID AIR Christmas came early fo
r the Dublin vinyl junkies when their (and our) favourite independent record shop in the city centre doubled in size. Spindizzy Records, situated in the Georges St Arcade, has long been the go to place for a rummage for the Dublin musical cognoscenti and with this expansion comes a promise of even more extra curricular activities in the shop (David Gray popped up at his Listening Party recently). A genuine Dublin treasure. www.spindizzyrecords.com Irish artist and designer Colin Horgan unveiled Mid Air, his first ‘seasonless’ collection, at the Drury Buildings Loft Terrace recently. Mid Air was a physical response to how Horgan’s work had been reimagined over the past 12 months and is primarily about a feeling of ascension. Fabrics are visible lifting away from the body while also reacting to that sense of being pulled upwards. Staple colours of Navy, Blue but molten black give old familiarity to his graduation work from The Royal College of Art, but with a weightless feel. Colin’s clinical execution of fitted tailoring and outerwear delves into a hyper sensational silhouette, extorting and manipulating harness strapping with sculptural effect. 3D Pannier pockets and exaggerated A-line flare panels create a signature collection topography. Horgan has a growing entourage of celeb fans including Dua Lipa, Lady Gaga, Kehlani and our own queen of the track, Rhasidat Adeleke.
