We were delighted to chat to programme director John Harris about his curation of the Festival and the spread of the Festival to a genuine cross city cultural event as The Cooler and The Complex come into play. Our cover star is the very popular singer songwriter Maria Kelly, who is also known within industry circles as the always amiable in-house Production manager for The Workmans Club. Maria’s album is a great follow up to her debut, The Sum Of The In-Between, an album which propelled the West of Ireland native into the spotlight. Maria is known for fostering an authentic artist-listener connection, especially as she embarked on her 2023 DIY ‘Living Room Tour’; rooms of 40-50 strangers, huddled around the fire, sharing stories, songs, and vulnerabilities. Her new album Waiting Room maintains this heartwarming homespun feeling in bucketloads. A blast of warmth while there’s still a nip in the air.
