Project partners are Mimer, Mälarenergi and ABB. To meet future demands for effi cient and reduced energy use and increased share of renewable energy, we must create the conditions and incentives to save energy and use energy as effi ciently as possible. With the smart grid, fi nancial incentives and know-how, we want to encourage residents to reduce their energy use. During a two-to three-year period, we will monitor the residents in their daily lives and then evaluate energy use. Th e project also aims to fi nd business models for the parties to make it economically feasible to install smart grids and active equipment on a larger scale in existing properties. To do that in new construction is considerably easier however, in the existing stock, in already built houses, there are the challenges and opportunities. We also want to learn about how diff ering pricing models contriSmart solutions in the future apartment
