FILM Perennial Light In the tranquil expanse of a
remote farm near a coastal town in County Cork, this beautifully shot film (in black and white) tells the story of a tender relationship between a young girl, her mother, and a boy from the town. Their unique bond transcends age, as the girl’s innocence, her mother’s nurturing spirit, and the boy’s latent alpha qualities create a harmonious dynamic, offering comfort and contentment in their shared existence. When tragedy strikes the boy retreats into a solitude that lingers into adulthood and parental life, manifesting in emotional coldness. The light of the title is revealed over a wonderfully engaging eighty minutes, scripted and directed by Corkonian Colin Hickey. Screenings are confirmed for Odeon Coolock and the Stella Rathmines so far. @perennial_light_film gig Rattling Ark A night of beautiful music in store here as feted cellist Kevin Murphy debuts his new project Rattling Ark with some very special guest performers.
