Totally Stockholm 1
knowledge we have all throughout the whole buildi
ng. From the sommeliers in the wine cellar, to the gastronomic abilities of the kitchen staff, to the knowledge in the bar. The interchange between the staff feels unique, there’s a very good camaraderie within the whole house. I love working here and it suits me perfectly that my boss, Daniel, has given me free rein in deciding how many nights I work, which makes it easier when I have two children at home. 10 Leijontornet has an extensive history. The restaurant opened for the first time in 1987, under the stewardship of restaurant manager Olle Lindberg and head chef Walter Traub. Even gastro legend Karl-Jan Granqvist was involved during this time. The name of the restaurant comes from the defensive tower ‘Leijontornet’, which was once part of Stockholm’s outer city walls towards the end of the 1300s. A part of the tower’s basic design is preserved, and still stands today in the restaurant’s lower dining room. Restaurant Leijontornet has had stars in the Guide Michelin on three previous occasions, 19891992, 1996-1997 and 2008-2010. Will they return to that exalted status in future? Only the crystal ball knows.
