A TRIBUTE TO DENISE GRÜNSTEIN AT ARTIPELAG In the
summer of 2023, photographer and artist Denise Grünstein sadly passed away. Now Artipelag has put together a memorial exhibition with some of her works. The exhibition Aftermath puts the emphasis on the main points of her career, spanning from the ’80s until her last big project Nymphaeas in 2021. “Denise Grünstein was not only a photographer, but a multi-faceted artist who worked at the interface between various artforms. Artipelag has followed her practice over the years, and her works feature in our collection. We are very happy about the possibility of presenting Grünstein’s work in an extensive solo exhibition at Artipelag”, says museum director Bo Nilsson. Aftermath is on display until January 7, and includes several works from the series Figure Out, En Face/1866 and Nympaeas, together with many of Grünstein’s video works. LOVE AND ATTRACTION AT SPRITMUSEUM In a meeting between an artist and a poet, matters such as power relations, heteronormativity and the desire to manifest true love are questioned. This is what the art exhibition Love X Attraction in Absolut Art Collection, currently on display at Spritmuseum, is about. Here, author and poet Anna Axfors and artist Blue WINTER SHOW AT STEINSLAND BERLINER Between December 1 and January 10, Gallery Steinsland Berliner is exhibiting their traditional group exhibition, with all of the gallery’s artists, as well as a few others by invite. This year, they have asked the artists to use the theme Give Me Something To Believe In as a starting point. You can find the results at Bondegatan 70. 14 Carolina Falkholt approach the subject of love. “Love and attraction are the simplest things that exist, but at the same time the only things people care about, and the only things all good art is about. I have always come back to that theme. My texts, Caroline’s art and Spritmuseum’s collection marry perfectly with each other. It’s an exhibition that is both beautiful, intellectual and a bit bold”, says Axfors. In her role as guest curator Falkholt has featured works from Absolut Art Collection, as well as her own piece in the shape a winding net of graffiti that surrounds the art. Love x Attraction is on display until 5 May.
