Dear Moyshe, Dear Schloyme. Letters Exchanged in the Shadow of Death is a record of the correspondence between pediatrician and author Salomon Schulman, and journalist and former EU civil servant Mose Apelblat. Their communication oscillates between the personal and the political, anchored in their shared experience as children of Holocaust survivors in a time and place where the relatively recent appeasement policies towards the Nazi government had already faded from memory. Theirs is a story of darkness and resilience, told with a distinct humour born from the fusion of Yiddish and southern Swedish regional cultures. Photo: Ola Torkelsson, privat Photo: Privat
