Our Way 1
EDITORIAL PARTNERSHIPS & cooperation! O ur compan
y history and our successes are largely based on successful partnerships and cooperation. Our founder, Olof Wallenius, and his wife Signe together built an international network of cooperation and partnerships based on confidence and trust, as well as with respect for the idea that a good deal must be good for all parties. The strength and endurance that most of our cooperation have shown in times of both ups and downs are proof that the “model” works. Another important factor is the balance between financial resources and expertise in our cooperation and partnerships. It is crucial that both parties add something unique to the mix. There are countless examples of cooperation based solely on similarities, which have not succeeded. One plus one will not always be two, or may add up to more. We therefore focus on how different competencies and financial resources can be successfully combined. OUR PIONEERING SPIRIT, longterm approach and social responsibility have in many cases been of great importance for our cooperation and partnerships. There are, of course, examples of situations where the cooperation has had major challenges or has ended because we were not prepared to sacrifice our values. In recent years, this has usually come down to different views on sustainability issues, which are absolutely vital for us. WE PERCEIVE CULTURAL differences as both interesting and positive, given that through confidence and trust, we create mutual respect and release untapped energy. There are many interesting examples in our own history books of how Olof & Signe Wallenius created and maintained our cooperation and partnerships. Today, our daily operations, as well as the continued interest of the owners and the nature of our cooperation and partnerships, function in much the same way. After all, the most important cooperation we have are internal and collegial, whether we are on shore or at sea!
