e Order of Dance premieres at Weld in Stockholm in January 2015. It is said that we inhabit a capitalist realism, in which we organize the world from an economic perspective. Is it instead possible to discuss the globally highest-ranked field of knowledge from the perspective of the lowest-ranked – for dance to describe economics? The project makes a nonmaterial, artistic claim as to the nature of economics and examines how physical knowledge can secure its place in contemporary discourse. In The Order of Dance, dancers Juan Francisco Maldonado (Mexico), Igor Koruga (Serbia/Germany) and Josefine Larson Olin (Sweden) tackle the subject together. From three different professional perspectives on dance, and from differing experiences of cultural policy, they deliver a “movement lecture”: a lecture based entirely on movement.
