3 Rising Dublin Hardcore crew, LaVein have released their official debut video ‘Crash The Gates’ ahead of a very busy month of live shows. The Metal 2 The Masses Ireland winners will be performing at this year’s Bloodstock Festival in the UK, before they embark on a run of Irish dates with Burner and Worn Out. Catch them in Whelans, Dublin on August 24th, Fred Zeppelins Cork - August 25th, Dolan’s Limerick - August 26th, and guests to Whores in the Grand Social, Dublin on September 6th. The UKs finest purveyors of occult rock, Green Lung, have revealed the details of their highly-anticipated third album This Heathen Land, that will be released on the November 3rd via Nuclear Blast Records. Alongside the announcement comes the first taste of the record, in the form of single ‘Mountain Throne’, a conflux of pyrotechnic guitar work and thrilling hooks. This Heathen Land is the most complete manifestation of the band’s vision to date, fulfilling their long-held goal to, in the words of vocalist Tom Templar, “create the definitive soundtrack to the folk horror film in our heads.” Pre-orders are now live and can also be ordered in Spindizzy, Sound Cellar and Sentinel Records. Swedish viking metal marauders, Amon Amarth continue their domination with a brand new music video for their epic Valhalla feast track ‘Heidrun’ off their chart-topping record The Great Heathen Army. They’ve also unleashed a special 4-track digital single of ‘Heidrun’ featuring a newly remixed version of the single plus two live bonus tracks and a ‘goat remix’ version featuring actual goat vocals. Frontman Johan Hegg sheds light on the mythological significance of ‘Heidrun’ - “Heidrun is an interesting mythological character, it’s a goat that stands on the roof of Valhalla eating the leaf of the big tree Lärad. The milk that she gives is the honey/mead that the warriors in Valhalla drink each night. The lyrics themselves are both about Vikings travelling the world but also metaphorically what it is to be a touring musician.” Canadian extreme metal legends Cryptopsy have revealed their depraved, merciless new single, ‘Flayed The Swine’. Found on the band’s first full-length album in over a decade, As Gomorrah Burns, due out on September 8th via Nuclear Blast Records, the influential death-dealers’ latest single is an accessible yet face-melting track that takes listeners down a dark and demented path to madness. In true Cryptopsy fashion, the track is accompanied by a horrific, blood-soaked video that will only fuel viewers’ nightmares. Check it out for yourself via the bands socials.
