O’BEIRNE URAGH KERRY KING MERCYFUL FATE American guitar virtuoso Richie Kotzen will embark on two exclusive Irish dates this coming July making it the very first time the guitarist will bring his solo band to Irish shores. Appearing in Belfast’s Limelight 1 on July 10th and Dublin’s Opium Venue on 11th, this is a show not to be missed. Tickets on sale NOW via Ticketmaster, tickets.ie and WavTickets.ie. Irish Progressive Metal unit, Nebularis have released a new single, ‘Voyager’ ahead of the release of their highly anticipated new album ‘Exodus - Shattered Earth Saga, Part I’ on February 23rd. Former Slayer guitarist Kerry King has finally given a release date for his highly anticipated new solo album, titled ‘From Hell I Rise’, due this coming May 17th via Rising Phoenix Music (RPM Music). With the first new single, ‘Idle Hands’ already released, King has assembled former Machine Had guitarist, Phil Demmell, ex-Slayer drummer Paul Bostoph, Death Angel frontman, Mark Osegueda and bassist, Kyle Sanders (Hellyeah). Anthrax are busy working on the follow-up to ‘For All Kings’ (2016), and have reported that the music is “heavier than ever!” (Frank Bellow, Bass). The new album has been recorded between intervals of free time, while drummer Charlie Benante fulfills his duties for Pantera’s live shows as well as guitarist Scott Ian, touring with Mr Bungle. Bello has confirmed that all the music has been recorded and they are just working on vocals from Joey Belladonna. Dublin Progressive Metal outfit, URAGH have released the second single from their forthcoming debut album, ‘Maelstrom’ which is due for release on February 23rd. The new single, ‘The Widening Gyre’ follows on from the intensity of ‘Monarch’ and will no doubt help the band to spread their name further afield. URAGH are taking part in this year’s Bloodstock Metal 2 The Masses Ireland showcases and could very well be chosen to represent Ireland at this year's Bloodstock Open Air Festival in the UK in August. Mercyful Fate have parted ways with Armored Saint bassist, Joey Vera and have announced their full-time services of Fury (UK) bassist, Becky Baldwin. The news broke in late January and saw huge praise for Balwin who stepped in for Vera during the bands US run of dates back in 2022. The band are currently working on a new album with frontman King Diamond confirming that the album title and artwork is already in place. A new King Diamond album, ‘The Institute’ is expected for release later this year, so keep your eyes and ears peeled for further news coming soon.
