It’s been a great year and an absolute joy to work with so many great people. Our contributors are an amazing bunch, so passionate about their work here and I know that their genuine love for the music and for those who create and perform it always shines through. I can't thank them enough. I’d also like to thank you the readers for your great messages and emails of support for what we are doing here. Producing a print magazine in this day and age was always going to be a challenge and will continue to be so but the reaction citywide amongst musicians, promoters, venues, stockists, publicists and, of course, the going out outers has been uplifting and invigorating. Special mention must go to my business partner, HKM’s Stefan Hellenius who believed in this from the moment it was pitched it to him and has continued to provide unwavering support and also to my other partner, the one in love, parenting and layout, Richeal Fox, who was thrown in at the designing deep end but managed to nail the aesthetic from the get go and who tolerates my lastminute.com editorial decisions with unconditional professionalism. I reckon. THE GOING OUT-OUT GUIDE TO GIGS & CLUBS IN DUBLIN THE GOING OUT-OUT GUIDE TO GIGS & CLUBS IN DUBLIN In this action packed issue we are delighted to feature the brilliant Cian Nugent, guitarist extraordinaire and creator of some of the best music and songs made on this island. His new album She Brings Me Back To The Land Of The Living is a welcome return, a real beauty that deals with issues that face us all in due course. Also making a welcome return is the London based Dubliner Michael Orange, a.k.a Feather Beds. His third album Softer Measures is out May 26th and is an intense body of work that recalls some of our 90’s greats like Rollerskate Skinny or My Bloody Valentine. We also catch up with two artists, in the literal sense, who have released great records. Dan Fitzpatrick, a.k.a Badhands - fresh from picking up prestigious gongs at festivals for his soundtrack work on a BBC nature documentary Wild Cuba - has also found the time to release his second band album The Wheel while Clara Tracey celebrates the release of her superb Black Forest album on vinyl with a June 8th show in the Workman’s Cellar. The Rockin Road Festival is a great family day out in Drumcondra on Sunday May 28th with all proceeds going to the vital ChildVision foundation for blind children. Kids have free entry and there's lots of activities, live music, vintage cars and clothes there on the day so a birra something for everyone so hop on a bus Gus!
