The girls from Haus of W.I.G., Donna Fella, Shaqira Knightly and Naomi Diamond host their weekly brunch at Wigwam. Known for their fierce performances and with the big open space at Wigwam, you are in for stellar performances and a tasty menu. We may have mentioned them once or twice here. Well, they are launching a brand new night at the end of May. King is a new club night catered for queer women and their friends. The night is all about empowering female identifying people, is trans inclusive and highlights the importance of creating a safe environment. If that doesn’t already have you booking your tickets, one of Dublin’s most beloved DJ’s Claire Becks will be on the decks for the premiere evening. @opiumdublin Pride month is upon us, and we are looking forward to highlighting all the amazing Pride events that will be happening next month. However, it’s important to remember that Pride isn’t just for the month of June and here are some upcoming events that are queer friendly all year around... Dance to the Underground - Fibbers Magee’s, 18/5/23 Dance to the Underground is back after a break for their next night God is Dead but Punk isn’t. This night calls all “queers, rockers, punks, goths, drags, weirdos, freaks, maniacs and misfits”, to come and party with drag performers Goblins Goblins Goblins, Coco Ri and Abra Kedavre, as well as DJs TiBiA & ROD.FiBULA. All misfits welcome! @dance.to.the. underground Fun Home - The Gate Theatre, 1st July-26th August 2023 LGBTQ+ musical Fun Home is making its Irish premiere at the Gate Theatre this summer. Based on a novel of the same name, the musical is a coming of age story about lesbian author Alison Bechdal, with a particular focus on her relationship with her closeted gay father Bruce. The Tony Award winning musical is bound to be a sell out, and tickets are on sale now, so make sure you get yours. @thegatetheatredublin PAGE 34
