IF IT AIN’T STIFF IT AIN’T WORTH A F**K - WHELANS - MAY 22ND Drumcondra born Dave Robinson is under the spotlight tonight as he recounts his rock n roll times as co-founder of the legendary Stiff Records with business partner Jake Riviera. Robinson signed The Damned, Motorhead, Elvis Costello, Ian Dury & The Blockheads, Kirsty McColl, Madness and the Pogues amongst others. He also managed The Animals, Young Rascals, Van Morrison, Elvis Costello and tour managed Jimi Hendrix up until the guitarist's death so it’s fair to say this man has stories. Mozart’s questionable tale of sexual manipulation and forced double infidelity also comes with one of his richest and most DELI GIRLS - MAY 24TH sublime scores and promises to be a highlight of the operatic year. NEWDAD - THE GRAND SOCIAL - MAY 24TH Galway band NewDad have announced their return to Dublin on May 24th with a gig at the Grand Social. The indie rock/shoegaze quartet are gearing up to release their brand new single on Wednesday, titled 'In My Head'. The four-piece have added London bassist Cara Joshi to their lineup in recent months, following last year's haunting Banshee EP and their beautiful 2021 debut EP Waves. DELI GIRLS - THE WORK MANS - MAY 24TH Over from Brooklyn, NY for their first Irish headliner Deli Girls is an emotionally charged, bombastic dance punk project comprising vocalist Danny Orlowski and various DJ/producers. In 2022 Orlowski teamed up with DJ/producer Hatechild (head necromancer at Melting Point) having always shared unforgivingly anti-establishment, queer freak values and have created a live show that's a post industrial, quasi religious experience. Orlowski is a demonic performer so this show is worth checking out for that alone.
