BUILD AVIATION INFRASTRUCTURE Air traffic management is part of several processes in which airlines, air traffic management providers and society collaborate. At the same time, it is also a collaboration between states and international regulatory frameworks that ensure sustainable aviation. Travel is changing, and the airspace along with it, bringing the need for progressive services and new solutions. In order to be attractive as a supplier of air traffic management and related services, collaborations and alliances are important. Aviation safety is LFV’s highest priority. It is our basic foundation and part of our processes; it is always taken into account when making changes. Air safety is based on an interaction between people, technology, regulations and organisation. LFV is also investing in innovation and development in close cooperation with our customers, researchers and the industry, with a focus on maintaining and developing safety, improving cost-effectiveness, capacity and sustainability whilst having a reduced environmental impact. LFV is active on the domestic as well as international markets. Our customers can be found within five delivery categories: • En route – this is traffic in the upper Swedish airspace that LFV directs from control centres. • The Swedish Armed Forces – in Sweden we have an integrated airspace for both civil and military aviation in order to be able to use the airspace in the best possible way. • The Swedish free market – municipal and privatelyowned airports that do not belong to the government-run airport network. • Swedavia – government-owned company with ten airports • The international market – there is increasing competition in air traffic management and related services. The international market is interesting from several perspectives, and LFV values the business opportunities that exist there. DIALOGUE AND COLLABORATION To further improve customer relations, delivery and monitoring of implemented operations, we have a structure for an agenda and meetings with our customers. Strategic, tactical and operational meetings are held with 18 the airlines, the Swedish Armed Forces and Swedavia in order to ensure long-term objectives as well as agreed deliveries. During the year, LFV met with representatives of the five customer groups in various types of meeting and forum in order to develop forms of collaboration. The Swedish Transport Agency, which is the supervisory authority for LFV’s operations, also plays an important part in developing rules and methods. Regular coordination meetings and dialogues are therefore held throughout the year. COLLABORATION, PARTNERSHIP AND DEVELOPED OFFERS Swedavia and LFV have a strategic collaboration and an agreement where air traffic at four of Swedavia's airports will be managed from a new control centre in Stockholm. The agreement applies to Kiruna Airport, Umeå Airport, Åre Östersund Airport and Malmö Airport. There are many benefits to developing a long-term partnership and securing the development of air traffic management, the flow of information and other services. AIRLINES International representatives of IATA sometimes participate in strategic meetings with airlines, where important long-term issues are discussed, such as capacity and delivery. At a tactical national level, finances and investments are discussed. Developing capacity and investing in new systems for future needs is the highest priority on the agenda looking ahead. There is considerable pressure on prices in the industry, so costs and cost-effectiveness have also been highlighted. Meanwhile, major investments will be needed in order to develop the airspace and systems. These are investments that airspace users help to pay for, based on the regulations that apply for utilising an airspace. At the operational level, LFV meets in a forum with the major airlines that operate in Sweden – including SAS, Norwegian and Ryanair – to discuss various proposals that may lead to simplifications and improvements in processes and procedures. THE SWEDISH ARMED FORCES A formalised meeting structure also exists on several levels for military air navigation services. LFV’s deliv
