KUNGSHAMN KUNGSHAMN The central locality on Soten
äset Kungshamn is the central locality of the municipality with all imaginable services. Here you will find several small shops of various kinds, grocery stores, the state-owned liquor store, as well as many cozy places to eat and have coffee. During the summer, the tourist information centre is located in the harbor. From the harbor, you can take a boat to Smögen or Hållö. The beach promenade takes strollers on a pleasant walk along the water. In the middle of Kungshamn, you will find the magnificent church, schools, healthcare facilities, and a pharmacy. Near the sports hall, there is an outdoor sports area. At Kungshamnsvallen you find an outdoor gym, and the hiking trail Soteleden-Kuststigen. If you want to swim, you can jump in the water from “Näbba” at Sandbogen, at Stenbogen - or at Tångens bathing area with both rocks, sandy beach and jetties. Väjern Just before the northern entrance to Kungshamn you can find Väjern, a small fishing village that has grown significantly in recent years with new buildings. The swimming and wellness facility Tumlaren can be found here, and there is a guest harbor outside the facility. There are two campsites at Väjern. For hikers, it is easy to connect to the Soteleden trail from Väjern. Hovenäset Just before the southern entrance to Kungshamn you can find the small community of Hovenäset. It is a true idyll with boathouses and narrow alleyways. THe Hovenäs Bridge, which connects Hovenäset with Kungshamn, was built in the early 1900s and is said to be unique because it is Sweden’s largest granite arch bridge. Between Hovenäset and Kungshamn, two of the municipality’s largest campsites are located. See our lovely films about Kungshamn, Fisketången, Väjern and Hovenäset.
