SEE & DO RAMSVIKSLANDET AND TRYGGÖ Ramsvikslandet
is one of the largest and most visited nature reserves in the county. The area is easily accessible and has great bathing spots. On Tryggö and on the shore between Sote huvud and Fykan you can see clear traces of the ice age. There are also other historical traces. Don’t miss the mighty grave site of King Trygges on Tryggö. Ramvikslandet probably has the most beautiful natural pastures on the Bohus coast. The area’s seashore meadows and shallow bays are popular resting and nesting places for shorebirds. You can find a varity of birds here. Ramsvikslandet is part of Sotenäset and was a peninsula until the 1930s, when the Sote Canal was built. . BUA HED Bua hed is one of the most well-preserved coastal heathlands in Bohuslän. The heath is on a sand deposit which makes the vegetation very susceptible to damage. Between the rocky headlands along the shore there are several beaches, and from the mountain tops you’ll get a magnificent view. Bua Hed is not far from Tullboden, the ferry point to BohusMalmön. THE BEST ROUTE TO SMÖGEN AND HÅLLÖ To avoid hunting for a parking space for your car, you can take a much cosier route to Smögen. Zitabåtarna run a regular service between Kungshamn and Smögen, every day in the summer. If you want to go to Hållö, the Hållö ferry runs scheduled trips between Smögen and Hållö during the summer season - and the Hållöexpress runs between Kungshamn/Smögen and Hållö. You’ll get to try out what fishing is like while also having a great experience on the ocean. 24 Visit Smögen & Kulturhuset Hav och Land and Folkets Park in Hunnebostrand is an ”oasis” for culture lovers and an alternative to the sea and the pubs. Kulturhuset is a meeting place all year round, with activities in the park in summer and indoors in winter. There is great meeting rooms and the location in the middle of Hunnebostrand makes this an obvious hub for activities. The indoor cinema usually hosts screenings of the latest films, as well as special screenings and festivals, especially in spring-winter-autumn. In addition, the Folkets Hus cinema has been able to offer “live-på-bio”, i.e. live broadcasts of opera, theatre and ballet from the major venues around the world. The stage has space for everything from lectures, big bands, theatre, opera, jazz & blues, open mic. The small gallery at the entrance hosts a variety of interesting art exhibitions, mainly by local artists. PADEL IN HUNNEBO Padel can of course also be played in Sotenäs and Hunnebostrand has two popular padel halls. Padelborgen at the roundabout and Padelhavet close to the centre and the sports field. Traditional tennis can be played on the tennis courts that are available in each locality. EXERCISE AT TUMLAREN Beautifully situated on the shore of Väjern is the newly renovated bathing and wellness facility Tumlaren. Here you will find various activities such as swimming, swimming school, wellness, rehabilitation, strength training, group training, massage, spa, café and various events.
