New mandates have come in recent years within the area associated with securing the capacity to provide air traffic service in all preparedness situations. This entails that LFV needs to recruit new employees. In the coming years, many new employees within essentially all professional groups will retire. Addition of new competence, therefore, is an important area in which intensive work was in progress in order to have the right competence at the right time. The work to improve procedures and processes associated with competence and resource planning have been in focus. At the Swedish Armed Forces aviation day in Ronneby, opportunities as an air traffic controller and reserve officer in LFV and the need of engineers were presented. At the control center in Malmö, LFV held an open house for interested parties, potential candidates for LFV's upcoming course starts for air traffic controllers. Since the majority of applicants are men, the event emphasised women, in particular, but everyone was welcome. LFV also needs competence in various technological and IT areas. An information seminar was held at Linköping University for students, and the presence in social media has been strengthened. 0 2018 29 years or younger 30–49 years 50 years or older 2019 COMPREHENSIVE RECRUITMENT Recruitment work over the past year has been extensive. It involved recruitment of students to the air traffic control training and to cover the need for specialist competence to the security area. There have been many applicants to the nearly 200 announced services in 2019, which is very promising. In addition, nearly 900 applications were received for 32 positions in the planned air traffic controller training in the coming year. 42 With new challenges and changes to LFV's operations, it became even more important than ever before to focus on leadership and to support organisational leaders. As part of the work on LFV's leadership development, a manager training programme has been implemented for about 50 leaders and key persons. The topic was “Collaborative means strength”. The programme has focused on confidence, responsibility and behaviour to develop the collaboration within and between various parts of the organisation. This has also resulted in a number of proposals for collaborations and development of LFV's organisation to work on going forward. LFV also looks forward to welcoming more and new colleagues to continue the work on development of the organisation together. WORK ENVIRONMENT Several large and extensive projects concerning the many employees and entailing a major need of resources are in progress. This has put significant demands on the organisation, employees and work environment. LFV's employees have been involved and committed to pushing the projects forwards. The management works actively together with managers to create better conditions in order for the organisation to be able to persevere and manage the overall challenge. ORGANISATIONAL TRANSITION TO SDATS AB AND FROM NUAC HB During the year, 14 employees have left LFV in the course of the organisational transition for employment in LFV's associated company SDATS (Saab Digital Air Traffic Solutions AB), which runs remote air traffic control at the Sundsvall and Örnsköldsvik airports. In the context of the divestment of NUAC HB, about ten employees have been re-employed in LFV via the organisational transition.
